Last night I saw the premier U.S. airing of the film “9/11: Press for Truth” on KBDI the PBS station out of Broomfield, CO. Having read the book “The Looming Towers: Al Queda and the Road to 9/11” which leads to different conclusions but shares a huge amount of the timeline facts I found the film fascinating, horrific, but fascinating.
I’ve come to the conclusion that in the last dozen years the mainstream American media dropped the ball completely on all three of the biggest stories of our time.
- 9/11
- The 9/11 Commission
- The financial meltdown supposedly beginning in 2007
I think the 9/11 Timeline created by Paul Thompson (used as the prime revelatory tool in the film; and the subject of the book “The Terror Timeline” ) is the single most valuable truth-seekers’ tool regarding the events of that tragic day and also about the 9/11 Commission that supposedly was established to get to the bottom-line truth about those events. The evidence gathered is immense and can be interpreted in many ways, but all reasonable interpretations lead to one conclusion: the full truth needs to be zeroed in on. The Thompson Timeline is incredible, most of it was available from individual news sources in the United States, but only Thompson was gutty and gritty enough to look into over 7,000 such stories to ferret out the complete picture:

I do NOT agree with some of and certainly not all of the conclusions of the film-makers . . . totally, but my opinion and their opinions are unimportant: the one obvious truth is that the 9/11 Commission did not get at the full truth and the media
which had an obligation to test the 9/11 Commission’s investigation and moreso: the media, our media, had a duty to conduct their own deep investigation into that day and everything that led up to it. I hope a complete and unfettered investigation will follow by both our government and by our own media.
If the “dot connection” was difficult and took six plus years in the case of 9/11, the other big media ball-dropping was the inability of the media to connect the utterly easy dots that would have put the financial meltdown in square easily understandable relief. Unlike the 9/11 story an easy and true picture can be clearly seen. The congress in 1998 passed a mortgage guarantee bill that purportedly had as its goal to “put every American possible into his own home.” The bill was supported by the vast majority of Democrats in both houses with the help of liberal Republican and opposed by conservatives of both parties and then when the Bush administration sought to eliminate the weakest aspect of that weak, weak bill in January, 2005 but were defeated in that effort by the Democratic majority.
Going back to Thompson’s Timeline, certainly, the United States’ intelligence community, by any interpretation, seems to have dropped the ball or even abetted a bad situation. The full truth, wherever it leads must come out. And the full truth about the shallow or possible deceptive 9/11 Commission must come out. And for God sake the media needs to get the truth out about the Democrat’s complicity in our financial mess as well.
